The H.E.R.O. Program is allowing us to properly prepare our students should they be in an active shooter situation. We practice how to be ready for an earthquake and fire, but the reality is this is just as important. I couldn’t be more grateful to those who have developed this easy to teach, a nonthreatening curriculum that will allow my students to be safe should they ever find themselves in this situation. As a principal, this is not something anyone hopes to encounter, but it provides me with a bit of reassurance knowing my students will know how to react and what to do in this situation.

After School

Designed for after-school programs, community groups, and religious institutions, the H.E.R.O. After-School Program presents H.E.R.O. concepts in a more simple, interactive format. The after-school curriculum was specifically designed to be taught by staff members with limited teaching experience via guided activity plans. Worksheets and activities are designed to engage the after school “wiggles” and help younger students learn H.E.R.O. concepts in an age-appropriate manner. 21st-century learning concepts are built into the curriculum, including collaboration and problem-solving exercises for older students.

The H.E.R.O. Program was very easy to follow, straight-forward, and the students loved it. The storyline was very much appropriate for their age. The lessons were easy to follow up with and explain to the children so they could have a clear understanding of the concept.  Also, the kids enjoyed the lesson plans along with the activities that came along with them. I would say it was a great hit and the kids loved it!
